As much as I love my daughter, I look forward to the day when I can lay in bed with my husband alone again. Even if it's just to cuddle for five minutes.
Will there come a point when she'll stay asleep when I set her down? Or will she always need to be held, awake or asleep? As of now it's as if she has a 'mommy is leaving me' radar. I'm flattered that she wants to be so close to me all the time, but boy I miss Ben.
I remember the first night we brought Leah home and she wouldn't go to sleep, so Dave had to go to bed without me for the first time ever. That was so hard for me! I had some of your same thoughts, so I'm here to reassure you that, yes, there will come a point where she'll stay asleep, she won't always need to be held, and you'll get more time with Ben again! There is a lot that is so sweet and fun and new about he newborn stage, and it's obvious that you are treasuring that, but I'm glad they don't stay that way forever, because I think it can be a pretty tough stage, too. I'm so excited for you...we'll have to find a chance to talk, soon!
