She loves food. Audrey loves eating yogurt, bananas, watermelon, but has also tried mashed potatoes, apricots, blueberries, sweet potatoes, black beans, and green beans. Basically, whatever is on our plate, God created, and is soft enough for her to eat we've fed her. She loves eating what we have on our plates and we are trying to help her love baby food, too.
She is incredibly active. Now that I see how much she kicks and moves about, it is no surprise to me that she tangled her feet in the umbilical cord when in utero. While in Maine she began getting up on her hands and knees and rocking back and forth, as if she was going to spring forward in a race. At 6 months she began to scoot around a bit and would get frustrated that she couldn't move fast enough. (Now, at 7 months, she can crawl completely and has explored nearly every inch of downstairs.)She is strong. At her 6 month appointment the nurse held Audrey's legs as she laid down to get shots. In protest, Audrey fussed a bit and tried to wiggle out, flexing her abs until she sat straight up. The nurse said she had seen some strong babies, but none that had gone from laying down to sitting up in a crunch like that.
She is happy. Though they aren't very common, Audrey giggles are the CUTEST. She smiles often, but that laugh is reserved for the best of moments.

She is mellow. She loves to cuddle and will nuzzle the chest of whoever is holding her. Oftentimes she is content to be by herself. Many mornings as I walk in her room I find she is already awake and appears to have been for a while.
***I walked into Audrey's room this morning to get her ready so we could bring Ben to school. It was not a surprise that she was awake, but it was a surprise that she was diaper-less. What was even more surprising was the brown marks on Audrey's face, pajama shirt, fingers, legs, and of course all over the crib. Yep, Audrey had contently played with her own feces for who knows how long. I've gotta say, I haven't laughed that hard in a while! In effort to keep her cool last night, I put her in a pj shirt and diaper only. She will be wearing a full set of pajamas from now on. - September 5, at 6 months 3 weeks***
She loves music. When Audrey's upset her daddy will often sing her 'Soy Un Hijo De Dios', which is 'I am a Child of God' in Spanish. She quiets immediately and often falls asleep. I love to hold her close to me and as we dance I hum to her or sing her a sweet song. Even when she isn't tired, she mellows right out and listens attentively. I love this girl!
She loves her dad. I think she is beginning to feel the joy expressed in 'I'm so glad when daddy comes home,' because when he gets home from work she sure gives him a joyful smile and happy sounds! I didn't think a kid could notice that daddy leaves and comes home this young, but I really think she does notice!
Overall she is doing very well and brightens our lives! We love our Audrey!
